Trains, Planes, and Automobiles: Opportunities for Central Massachussetts

October 15, 2003 (Worcester, MA) -- State Secretary of Transportation, Daniel Grabauskas, addressed a sold-out Power Lunch sponsored by the Research Bureau at the New England Business Expo on Wednesday. Speaking to a crowd of over two hundred business and community leaders, the Secretary of Transportation discussed state priorities for transportation improvements in central Massachusetts and across the Commonwealth. Secretary Grabauskas used the occasion to announce an expedited schedule for the Route 146 connector. Work on the final segment, Brosnihan Square, will not have to wait until the completion of the previous segment, Hurley Square. He has pledged that the project will be completed by 2007. He also encouraged local officials to work with the state to increase the use of Union Station, and offered his pledge to support city efforts to make Worcester airport a viable enterprise.
