The Worcester Regional Research Bureau serves the public interest of Greater Worcester by conducting independent research and analysis of public policy issues to promote informed public debate and decision-making.

Since 1988, The Research Bureau has also celebrated the unsung heroes of public service. The Thomas S. Green Public Service Awards highlight those municipal and public school employees that provide outstanding and exemplary contributions to government and the community. This prestigious award is open to all municipal and public school employees in the Central Massachusetts region, except department or division heads.

We invite residents, business and civic leadership, government employees, and elected officials to submit nominations by February 22, 2019. Nomination forms are available on The Research Bureau’s website (www.wrrb.org).

Winners will be recognized at a ceremony on Thursday, April 25, 2019, at Assumption College.

Nominees for the Thomas S. Green Public Service Awards must illustrate:

  • Exceptional competence and efficient handling of all assigned responsibilities
  • Enthusiastic performance of tasks above and beyond the call of duty
  • Cooperative, helpful, and friendly attitude toward the public and fellow employees
  • Community involvement outside the scope of job-related responsibilities

The Worcester Regional Research Bureau is a private, non-profit organization established in 1985 and dedicated to conducting independent research on public policy issues in Greater Worcester.
