As of Jan. 2, 2026, Worcester officially swore in the newly elected city councilors.
In addition, Mayor Joe Petty decided the standing committees for the upcoming two-year term. Each of the nine committees have three members and one chair; the committees discuss matters pertaining to their assigned jurisdiction and can meet as much or as little as they desire.
