WORCESTER – Delivering his third State of the City address, City Manager Eric D. Batista spoke of how the city is facing national issues at the local level, which he said “requires bold action.”
“I will not let difficult times define this city; I will not. Instead, it will be defined by how we rose to the moment and in the face of uncertainty changed for the better, just like we have for the past 250 years,” Batista said. “Worcester does not get knocked down and for better or for worse is not afraid of a challenge.”
Batista discussed the shape of the city’s finances, infrastructure and business growth, along with homelessness and the housing crisis.
