They have the potential of wiping out personal finances, ruining lives, destroying families and damaging the positive strides Worcester has worked so hard to make in economic development and overall self-image, says Roberta R. Schaefer, president and CEO of The Research Bureau.
So what are the positives of a slot machine parlor? According to Ms. Schaefer, citing the findings in the Research Bureau’s new report, “Should Worcester Welcome a Slot-Machine Casino?,” there aren’t any.
