Nearly eight months after it officially began with the first availability of nomination papers, the 2019 municipal election season is heading into the home stretch.

In less than 10 days, Worcester voters will be electing a new City Council and School Committee, as well as deciding who will be mayor for the next two years.

While things haven’t exactly come close to reaching a fever pitch out on the campaign trail, there have been some signs that local voters are at least awakening from their prolonged indifference toward the election.
