WORCESTER — A week after the release of a Worcester Regional Research Bureau report calling for a civilian review board with subpoena powers to oversee the Worcester Police Department, candidates for City Council have differing opinions on whether they would support such a board.

Following the December 2024 release of a U.S. Department of Justice investigation into the Police Department, City Manager Eric D. Batista asked the research bureau for a report on whether the city should establish a civilian review board, something that has long been debated.
