‘Heart and integrity’: Meet the next winner of Worcester’s top community service award

WORCESTER – George W. Tetler III has been named the recipient of the 2026 Isaiah Thomas Award for Distinguished Community Service, a civic award that recognizes individuals who volunteer time, energies and abilities to the benefit of others, and who work at improving the quality of life in Worcester.

The award will be formally presented at the Isaiah Thomas dinner, April 30 in Mechanics Hall.  “George leads with both heart and integrity and has given back abundantly to the community he loves,” Worcester State University President Barry M. Maloney said on his nomination form. “On a personal level, I know him to be a kind, generous and principled person.”
