On April 23 and 24, the city of Worcester warmly welcomed back 45 distinguished individuals who either grew up in the region or received their education here, as part of its second Worcester Homecoming initiative. Building upon the foundation laid in 2022, this year’s event showcased Worcester’s ongoing transformation, while celebrating the deep-rooted connections that bind former and current residents.
The first day offered attendees a firsthand look at Worcester’s cultural and economic resurgence. The participants began with a tour and panel discussion at the historic Hanover Theatre, highlighting the city’s investment in arts and downtown revitalization. Later, the group gathered at the Glass Tower’s newly opened event space with panoramic views of Worcester for a reception and dinner that set the tone for meaningful engagement and collaboration over the next two days. Ralph Crowley, a member of the Worcester Homecoming Executive Committee, gave some welcoming remarks, followed by talks by the mayor, city manager and the CEO of the Worcester Regional Research Bureau.
