Human Rights Commission urges city to establish civilian police oversight board

WORCESTER – The Human Rights Commission is urging the city to establish a civilian police oversight board, much in the spirit of the Worcester Regional Research Bureau’s report from October, which argued for the creation of such a panel.

On a 5-1 vote, members of the commission sent a recommendation to City Manager Eric D. Batista during its Jan. 26 meeting, after discussions regarding the effectiveness and possible structure of a civilian review board.
